The Nickel and Dime Ranch

Two retired high school teachers from Southern California move to a 100 acre ranch in rural Northern New Mexico. Why the name? This place nickels and dimes us to death, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

After 30 years of teaching, my husband and I moved from Southern California to a 100 acre ranch in Northern New Mexico. At the ranch we raise grass-fed and finished steers and grow veggies the steers eat when we are not looking. Our closest neighbors are yaks, and we've adjusted from a busy Southern California lifestyle to a mellow New Mexico culture. For fun, I make quilts and the hubby cuts wood.
